Introduction

Better living through biology #

If we could just wrestle the complexity to the ground, biology could solve most of the problems we struggle with. The obvious benefit is curing disease. But, biology is also the key to increasing food production and making highly targeted industrial solutions.

We seek to build a roadmap for a “transistor for biology”. In the same way that transistors give us the primitives to build computers intentionally, how do we build the primitives that allow us to build biological solutions

The roadmap #

The steps are:

  1. Enumerate desirable applications of engineered biology
  2. Map of constraints based on the laws of physics
  3. Connect the dots with labs working on the constraints
